IDENTIFICATION OF RELATIONSHIP PAINFUL ERECTION WITH DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY IN PATIENTS WITH PEYRONIE'S DISEASE

Abstract

The prevalence of Peyronie's disease is about 10% of the male population of 100 thousand. Since, according to the polls 77% of men suffering from this disease, the deterioration of the quality of life in general, which is connected not only with the existing deviation of the penis, causing an aesthetic dissatisfaction and technical difficulties during coitus, but also the associated erectile dysfunction, according to a 25% -80% of cases. The object of the study were 24 patients with Peyronie's disease. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the degree painful erections. Subsequently, all patients were survey using the hospital anxiety and depression questionnaire, including two sub-scales of anxiety (A) and depression (D).When interpreting the data, consider the total figure for each subscale (A and D), while the values of the area allocated 3: 0-7 points norm; 8-10 subclinical expressed anxiety / depression; 11 points or more clinically severe anxiety / depression. Group 1 patients with an average intensity of pain during an erection, there was subclinical anxiety and depression. A group 2 patients with an average intensity of pain during an erection, clinically severe anxiety and depression. Patients with Peyronie's disease revealed depression and anxiety, having a correlation dependence of the degree of pain during erection. Severe depression and anxiety, can be the cause of psychogenic erectile dysfunction.
